The difference between Counselling and Psychotherapy

Counselling and Psychotherapy offer you the opportunity to explore the emotional issues that you feel are

creating problems in your life. Counselling traditionally has offered short term sessions and Psychotherapy offering long term and more in depth work. Both of these processes can overlap. As an accredited Counsellor and Psychotherapist you have the comfort that whatever you need I will be able to work with you, at your pace, on your issues for as little or as long as it will take.

The benefits of   Counselling and  Psychotherapy?

As an experienced Counsellor and Psychotherapist I will enable you to understand your feelings and enable you to gain new insights which will help you explore your options. In our busy world the time and space is yours to share your burdens in a comfortable environment where you will not be judged.

Depending on your aims, counselling can also give you tools to take with you to the outside world.

This can enable you to lead to a more satisfying and happier life, increase your confidence, cope with stress and better manage anxieties and addiction. In a relationship it can lead to improved communication with your partner, greater compassion and increased intimacy.

About Me

I work integratively believing that each individual or couple is unique. I do not believe in a 'one size fits all approach'. I work with the mind, body and soul and on those thoughts, feelings and behaviours which have bought you into my practice.

The core theory I use is person-centred, but I will integrate this with CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) Transactional Anaylsis and Existentialism. With deeper issues involving the past I incorporate Psychodynamic Theory.

An example of some of the issues I can help you with:-

*Anger

*Abuse

*Anxiety

*Bereavement

*Body Image

*Confidence issues

*Depression

*Domestic Violence

*Career Issues

*Eating Disorders

*Loss

*OCD

*Phobias

*Sexual Identity

*Sexuality

*Stress

*Trauma
